  • Have you taken a BMP out at 500 meters??
I have a mission that West guys need to take out a convoy but they Can Not take out a Certain Truck hauling A "------" Computer or Danger Sign or Barrels or..... Something other than A Guy or Weapon. I know ya can transport  guy/weapon but what about objects like fore mentioned. Hold on here!! Also will the West guys be able to transport object back to base over Water. Example they stop the truck, secure the cargo computer transfer it to heilo or boat then get it to a Base on a tiny island off the main island. Possible??

So long as you don't need to actually see it in the truck, just pretend it is there.  At the destination just setPos it to where you want it to be visible.

If you do wish to be able to see it in the vehicle then try a setPos in a fast loop (like the ammocrate/parachute script I gave you) to keep the object in a specific place in relation to the vehicle.

I recommend the pretend route

strange you should say that, as i have the intention of going one step further, and setpos'ing the cargo crates onto some part of a loon's anatomy so it appears they're carrying the stuff. it's going to look odd, but then so would the 'pretend' way in certain circumstances.

as for sharkyjoe's question, perhaps an addaction would suit for the unloading/collection/reloading of the computer. then at least any setpos'ing wouldn't look as odd. but as THobson points out, in many cases pretending and suspending your disbelief for a few seconds is often the best route ;)

actually If you played the MEC finalists missions you will see that in "Everon transport 2" the author made a very nice looking trucks that appear to be carrying barrels and ammo boxs with the simple setpos command for hieghts. Unfortunatly those trucks cannot be moved or maned by the player or everything will fall down, but they are good looking for intros if you want.

I think I give my vote to the pretend method ;D.

I think if you setpos the items - and are careful to take the direction of the vehicle in to consideration when setting the offsets, you should be able to move the vehicles.

I'll take all into consideration and get to work on it.
Sounds like a weekend project for me casue i'm not that skill in making my own scripting. But there always is a first time.  :)
