Back seat drivers ...
« on: 18 Mar 2005, 09:51:52 »
Firstly, sorry if this has been covered elsewhere. I'm new to this board.

You'll also discover I'm something of a technical doofus. Apologies.

Yesterday, to please my OH, I added a lot of sports car addons going back through the archives. Mostly these were by Mechanic(?), but that's just for info ...

Anyway, all of a sudden I seem to have back seat drivers.

Oh, recently also added the new Scud addons from Vit and another, which might be relevant because the action position is backseat. And I'm using version 1.96 with ECP

Any ideas as to what might be happening? Or what I can do about it?

Welcome to the forums. I'm not sure what you're talking about. Do you mean that you can drive and control the car when you are positioned in the passenger seat?

If this is the case it is most likely a problem with the addon (passanger seat defined as drivers seat and vice versa), not your OFP version or ECP. I've never heard about anything similar. Find an addon that works and throw away the old one.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, that's exactly the problem: the cars can be controlled from the rear left-hand passenger seat! However, the problem has occurred with previously working addons - that's the bit that's puzzling me. Is it possible that something general could have been overwritten?

Try to remember what addons you added when the problem started. Remove them, one by one, until the problem disapear. Then you can pinpoint the problem and decide wich addon(s) is malfunctioning. That's the best advice I can give you.

It turned out to be Philcommando's Ford Pick-up. THis is quite an old add-on, I think. Very surprised cos PC's stuff has usually behaved impeccably (and been great fun!)
