Custom Road??

Hi, i tried to create my own roads using my textures... but somehow the road is "totally black" in game.. Here is how i did it.

1. Using Odol Explorer, i saved the file,sli6.p3d as an MLOD format.
2. i renamed the file as dirtr6.p3d.
3. Using Oxygen tool, i re-pathed the textures and rename the selection of the road.
4. Using Visitor tool, i planted in the road. THe road shows up well in buldozer...
5. Pbo the folders and test it in game.

I thought all is well, but somehow the road is black in color in-game... and the road network/outline doesn't show up in the map editor mode.

Anyone tried to create new road? Any idea wat is wrong??

previously, i jus copied over the existing roads to plant them in visitor... so i'm not sure where are the config for the roads...

now i wan to create new roads... or at least change the texture... so i dunno how to go about doin that~

Take a look at the original roads in Oxygen, then you will see how BIS has made them.

i have looked at the oxygen file of the in-game roads... and i noe how to make them and change textures...

i can't find the config that includes the road...

somehow the game cannot read the in-game roads if i saved them as MLOD format... so i'm wondering if it is becoz its binarized...

if so, how do i binarize the p3d files?? i tried using binarizeIT and binerize, both can't seem to work...

Hmmm.....I think the roads are configed in class Roadway under class CfgSurfaces.

Look at the commented configs from BIS.

I'm not sure that the roads NEED to be binarized, but Binarize works just fine here.

What problem are you having with it.

okay, thanks, i check out the config file~

but for binerize and binerizeIT, its suppose to create the binerized file in a OPT folder rite? mine did not work... i'm not sure if its becoz i did not do it correctly or if its jus my machine...

any specific steps to follow??
