« on: 21 Dec 2004, 06:50:40 »
Hello.

Im a Maya 3d artist and i was wondering this:

1: Can i use maya to make modells for OFP?

2: Can i use Maya to make animations for OFP?

3: If so where can i get the plugins?

4: Anyone have some tutorials and rules on how it is done?

Thx for any input.

Do a search using the forum search function, on the word 'Maya' for the last 600 days, you will find a few useful and interesting bits of information.

Yeah Maya can be used to draw models for ofp.

You need to save as 3ds model then use an app wich i dont have the name :(  to convert 3ds into *.p3d .

Can also be done by saving models into *.obj .

Teacup made a plugin to animate OFP in Maya :)
And if you save as 3DS, it should import in O2 (Import menu, or open menu.. Both have options for 3ds)
I can be more specific if you want

You have the url for this plugin?

And anyone know what version of maya it supports?

If i can get modelling, animation and textureing done in maya i have lots of models that i can contribute with :)

I have made, with the generous help of teaCup, a kit to allow you to use MayaPLE to make OFP animations.

MayaPLE is the freeware version of Maya. I find animation goes much faster with PLE than with OFPAnim. I still use OFPAnim, for checking my work, for example.

I am looking for beta tester feedback before releasing it. If you are interested, contact me with "MayaPLE" in the heading (so I know it's not spam).
