  Hey everyone

I dont know if this is even possible but you know how you can only have like 62 or 63 groups on each side..well i need more than that like at least 100, anyone smart enough and have the time to modify the game or make a script?

I think its impossible, except CreateUnit scripts  :P

If you use CreateUnit, you can have as many groups as you like, but its more complicated than just 'click select unit'.

Tutorials for it are in the editors dept  ;)

Unlikely.   ;)   More likely is that you need better unit placement and more thought.

CreateUnit doesn't help, as units must be created into a pre-existing group.    You can use it to make infinite groups though, where new loons are created as existing ones are killed.

If you ally Resistance to one side and use civilians you can have 189 groups on one side.    If each one has 12 members, well that's enough to make most computers crash.

Why would anyone want to?  It would increase lag - even if it were possible and there is no need.  I have a mission in beta testing that can take anything from 6 to 26 hours to complete and it uses only 25 or so groups per side.

Try making sure you name all your groups... eg.

group1 = group this

in the leader's init fied.

Flashpoint tends to come up with extra groups somehow sometimes... it helps to make sure you've manually specified what's a new group and what isn't ;)

You shouldn't ever need more than 63 groups... there hasn't been a PC made that could handle all that (yet ;D)...

OK here's basically why. Im creating a mission, and building a new base with the mission editor, i got all my roads and walls and buildings laid with no clipping problems "finally" and i want a mass amount of soldiers walking around like a real base, one walking into a outhouse and out, 5 groups approaching the beach in boats ans disembarking to their barracks, Groups in training doing pushups groups in firing squad firing, major yelling at soldiers, people patrolling, etc, etc, just basically make the base as realistic as possible, and in many instances i need single soldiers not groups. so 63 groups adds up quick, Im not gonna have more than 120 "single units" on each side. Basically when i group soldiers they follow each other instead of following specific waypoints i set for all of them seperately. also about the outhouse thang, whats a script to get the loon to open outhouse door, go in, come out like 10 seconds later, shut dooe, continue on?

You still shouldn't need more than 63...

The individual soldiers can be grouped (no more than 12 in a group obviously).
If they are static all you need to do is put this in their init line:

dostop this

They'll stay at whatever position you give them.
Guys doing pushups can all be grouped, etc... there's not much reason to put one soldier in one group unless you need them to follow waypoints.

I'd suggest revising your units though... having that many guys running around is going to cause some fairly nasty slow down... ;)

i have some units grouped like my 8 pushups guys and the guy next to him are grouped, they stay where there supposed to, even with the dostop this they still dont always stay where i want them. I have 50 some guys walking around now with choppers jeeps jets flying around no lag but i have a fast PC too so im not worried about the lag but i will continue to try and learn. this seems to basically be my last problem for what i need to know for my mission. do i need to group the units with the blue line or just use the groupthis line, maybe thats my problem, cause when i use the blue line the units move in formation even if i have that setto none, and dostop this works but the loons wont stand stiil then, its like there trying to move but the init line wont let them, looks glitchy, but I REALLY appreciate all your guys help. Than You ALL!!!

There's thread about this already kicking around .... search back over the last couple of days and see what you can find.  Somebody (General Barron?) posted a script on the forum.

If that fails check the online comref and read up on disableAI.
