group only follows unit to 1st waypoint
« on: 26 Feb 2005, 04:48:22 »
Hey everyone Im back.
I created 4 soldiers and linked them to a major ranking unit, all 4 soldiers are set to as cargo as opposed to in formation because 1. they wouldnt follow me and 2. they wouldnt start where i placed them they would start in a line somewhere far away. but anyways..my major has 3 waypoints 1.move 2.move 3.get in  (a truck) he does what he is supposed to but my 4 soldiers only follow him to waypoint 1 and then just stand there moving there heads with him as he moves across the area into the truck, then when he gets in the truck they all run over and board?
do i need to use triggers or something??

penguinman (any relation of sealboy? what about polarbearwoman? :P) is correctamundo. 'in cargo' is for... well, loons in cargo, mmm?

set the 'special' field to 'none' as he suggested. for one thing this will stop the loons getting into formation straightaway, and will enable them to follow the commander. when you say "1. they wouldnt follow me ", they won't unless you're their commander.

as for the late boarding problem, loons won't move unless they need to or are told to (and sometimes not even then, the sassinfrassin little  >:( .....) so if they're close enough to the commander to be within spitting distance of him, they'll sometimes stay still. they seldom spit though, sadly.

ditto the comment on making the question clearer, btw. are young folks allergic to paragraphs these days? :P
