mission question
« on: 20 Feb 2005, 20:59:05 »
I have noticed that you can only put 63 units on at a time. BUMMER! My question is can we bump that number up at all? to say..............163!! lol
It just seems that some maps are so huge that my friends and I get bored driving to the next task. So, if there is a way, please let me know.....thanks

Actually it is 63 groups per side, but each individual soldier counts as a group.

If you have the maximum 63 groups, each with the maximium 12 soldiers you can actually have 756 soldiers per side.  Three sides gives you 2,268 in total.  Is that enough?

lol, you could also use a respawn script to minimize the lag of having that amount of units on the map at the same time.

I always laugh when people say 63 groups is not enough.   It really is, believe me.    You don't need more groups:  you need better unit placement and better mission design.    63 groups is more than enough to make a mission that will last 24 hours of gameplay, at least in SP.

If you really want more the quick fix is to make Resistance not friendly to your side.   That makes 189 groups against you.
Plenty of reviewed ArmA missions for you to play
