removing tracers
« on: 09 Jan 2005, 05:00:19 »
one very unrealistic thing in ofp that not many people notice is that with most weapons, there is a tracer for each and every round coming out of the gun, in real life it depends on the weapon but i think for a MG its about every 6th round is a tracer,

so i got the new tracerfix thing and that looks good but u can still see the old default tracers in the background so i want to know how do u edit an addon to remove the tracers.

I think that you can remove all tracers in the difficulty settings on the main flashpoint page, in settings, just select tracers off.

I find that even with this option disabled, I am still seeing "tracer"
beams (with certain weapons only). Does anyone else see this?
Or have an explanation...or solution?

ya, with tracers off, all bis weapons have no tracers but now all non bis(or addons) weapons that wernt designed with tracers    now have tracers.   ie: the BAS M-24 sniper rifle now has tracers and it looks really wierd.

another way, more difficult, is to change .cpp files, by putting "0" at all values in
tracerColor[]={0.6,0.2,0,0.900000};
tracerColorR[]={0.6,0.2,0,0.900000};

so you won't see any kind of bright spark...
