Commands
« on: 31 Jan 2005, 10:40:38 »
There are such commands like:

"EffectStandSalute"

To make the effect happen you must first put this in front of it:

Ex:
unitname swithcMove "EffectStandSalute"

---
Back like 2 years ago, i had like a lot of actions for OFP.
I searched google, the forums, look in DePBOed missions... etc.

And i found a lot of sweet s*t*u*f*f!!!!   ;D

But then i had to format and i couldn't back-up anything... and broke the OFP disc.

Blah blah blah...  ::)

Now i am back... and trying to find out more.
---

Anyways, as i am saying.... the effects, switchMove command.

Other than the switchMove command there is another command out there that i fogot, but i knew before.

That command supports commands such as these:

FXangel
FXangel2
FXStandAtt
FXStandAttVar1
FXStandBug
FXStandDangle
FXStandDip
FXStandDropTel
FXInKneel
FXFromKneel
FXStandFromDip
FXStandFromTable
FXStandhip
FXStandRotateTable
FXStandShowTable
FXStandStraight
FXStandSur
FXStandSurDead
FXStandSurDown
FXStandSurUniv
FXStandToDip
FXStandToTel
FXStandTelLoop
FXStandToTelHand
FXStandToTable
FXStandUnivTable
XStandEndTable

^  These commands won't work if i use the unitname switchMove "command" way.

Unless i didn't try a way again.

But i think i remember that they won't, even if you put the unit in SAFE behaviour.

Anyone out there know anything about what i am trying to get at?

Please help, :)

You will be granted greatly.

try using the command from a trigger and not from the init field,

eg. man playmove "EffectStandSalute"

MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA  ;D ;D ;D

That's it... thanks, i am dumb.

When i was looking at the online references i passed that (P) - playMove

**

* And yal.. the difference between the switchMove and playMove that i recall... grants the unit to really play the effect out... shows the unit accually doing it.

Thanks for telling me... it would have probally take me like a few weeks before i found out that again.

look no further than AK_Moves_V1 from this very website. it shows all animations, using both switch/playmove.

find attached the textfile from the mission.

you may also wish to check out the thread at the top of this board, "the time for action has come" - many more actions recorded there.

The is the 297th time somebody has posted this list in the forum.   :noo:  :hmm:   The Ed Depot was invented to prevent madness of this sort.

1.    Please do not post data in the forum.     Direct people to the Ed Depot.   If the information is not in the Ed Depot, then create a quick tutorial and submit it.  (It's very easy.)

2.    There is a reference list of playMove/switchMove animations in the Ed Depot.

3.    There is also a demo mission showing all of them in action.

4.    I created both of these resources (with ponq's help on the demo) because I was sick to death of people posting this wretched list in the forum.  >:(

5.   As bedges said, everything we know about actions is in the sticky topic at the top of this board.     It is unique in being a forum thread in which it is desirable to post information.      However, please study carefully the downloads attached in posts near the end of the thread before posting - they contain a summary of everything in the thread.

6.   Yes you've guessed it, that thread was my idea and I was the one who collated and posted the summary files....

7.    ..... because I was tired of people posting incomplete lists of actions in the forum.    The basic list is in the game directory, I don't even think you have to depbo anything to find it.

8.   Before posting any question, please use the forum search function (you would have found what you were looking for) and have a hunt around the Editors Depot (where you would have found what you were looking for).

9.   OFP is an old game.   One of the wonderful things about it is that people are still discovering new stuff.    However, the people that do the discovering have been studying the game for years.     People who have been away from the game for a while do not discover something new five minutes after returning.   ::)  The Ed Depot already has nearly 1,000 resources including over 200 tutorials.

10.   Full marks for trying to be helpful.      But temper the enthusiasm with a little common sense next time, yes?

I'm not an expert on these things so I'll leave this in pending for a few days to give you a chance to point out any glaring errors.

I'm also open to suggestions as to what else should go in the Common animations section - we could have a few more before it gets unwieldy.
