I'm a newbie to the forum and couldn't find this anywhere else so... sorry.

Okay, made my mission, the briefing, etc.  All of that.  Go to export it, play test it - none of my briefing stuff shows up.  Looked for a compressing tool to combine the briefing.html and mission file - couldn't find one.  Am I blind and missing something obvious, or am I looking in the wrong place to start?

    Hmm all that stuff just has to be in your mission folder when you export it... the description.ext,   mission.sqm, any scripts you have (.sqs files) as well as the briefing and overview files....  

if they're not showing up the briefing and overview files might not be working

In the mission editor, what happens if you hold the SHIFT key and click on Preview?     You should get the briefing.

If you have clicked that export-to-single-missions box once, delete the .pbo before doing it again.  Otherwise confusion can arise.

There is no compression utility because you don't need one - the game does it.   As Kali says, your mission folder

OFP/users/yourname/missions/myfirstmission

should contain

mission.sqm
briefing.htm
overview.htm

plus any other files you have created.    The game does the rest, or at least it should.    Try borrowing a briefing from somewhere and see if it works with that ..... though you may have trouble with markers linked to the map.
