A small question...

Long time no see! I've finished my second mission, now. Once I get it uploaded, all shall be well.

I was just wondering, cause I'm a real stickler for realism. (Pardon the pun.) What was the real radio setup in 1985? Surely not every grunt had some little squad communication intercom? I would have thought that it was voice commands, signals, and one radio operator per squad?

Very special forces might have had personal radios available at this period, but not the majority.

For normal units I don't think you'd expect much more than what you've guessed - a platoon net with a radio per section.  Maybe two radios at platoon HQ - one on the platoon net and one on the company net, switching one radio across two nets or too many stations on a single net would cause headaches.

Within the section voice and hand signals would be the norm but OFP strikes useable compromise.
