Geometry not working
« on: 30 Jan 2005, 13:52:25 »
Created a 2 storeys building with a many polygons.
When putting it in game, the geometry doesn't seem to be working.
Soldier can pass through the geometry.

Is it because there are too many number of geometries?
Is there maximum number of polygon?
Any other reason?

Yeah, that's an old topic...
It always depends on the models so I'd suggest you send it to me and I'll fix it and send it back.

Give a man a fish, he eats for a day.  Teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime.

No offense, but I think we should first try to help him, instead of doing it for him ;)

Making a Geo lod is tricky at first, I use to have a lot of trouble at it.  Here are a set of basic guidlines:

1)You must have components in the geo lod.  You do this by selecting the whole building (press Ctrl A), and selecting Structure-Topology-Find Components in the top bar.

2)You can have no more than 99 components, any component past 99 will not be recognised in the game.

3)The can be no holes in a component, and the component must be convex, it can not be concave!

4)For the geo lod, all components must have a weight.  You do this by pressing Ctrl A, and setting a weight in the lower left hand corner of the screen.

5)You object can not be bigger than 60x60x60 meters!

With a little practice, you will get the hang of it. ;)
