AI accuracy...
« on: 07 Jan 2005, 23:57:31 »
Hey all!

Some time ago I found a thread about decreasing the AI`s accuracy, so that I can play against "super-skilled" enemies, without getting killed by their 1st shot.
Does anyone know, where I can download this addon/script, I already tried to find it...

Look at buttom of page.
If this wasn't what you are looking for there are some dispersion beta scripts in scripting beta testing.

Like this: [Name of your soldier] exec "FOX2_HDConvAI.sqs"
0r [soldier1,soldier2,soldier3,soldier4] exec "FOX2_HDConvAI.sqs"
The above goes either in init.sqs or a units initfield.

And remember to copy the scripts to your custom mission directory.

Still won`t work! I copied ALL files in the mission directory ("FOX2_GearUp.sqs", "FOX2_HDConvAI.sqs", "init.sqs",  "FindIndex.sqf", "FOX2_HDConvert.sqs", "FOX2_HDConvMagDef.sqf", "FOX2_HDConvMagHDDef.sqf").

But then... (view picture)  :o

That's strange? It works perfectly for me.
FindIndex.sqf,FOX2_HDConvert.sqs,FOX2_HDConvMagDef.sqf and FOX2_HDConvMagHDDef.sqf should be in FOX2_HDConvert folder or else it won't work.
Are you sure they are in that folder?

Ok, I dont`t know if it really works now, but the error message doesnt show up anymore, since I`ve placed the FOX2_HDConvert file and the "FOX2_GearUp.sqs", "FOX2_HDConvAI.sqs", "init.sqs" files in the mission directory. Before, I extracted the files out of "FOX2_HDConvert" into the mission folder.  :P

BY THE WAY: Is there any good soundmod, that makes the  game a bit more... erm... authentic (! Yes that`s the word ;)) ?

Get ECP, its on OFPEC, hosted by OFPEC, and makes the game much more fun.

And then scripts work for your standard BIS ppl, but you can get addons like JAM2 which has high dispersion magazines/soldiers for better firefights. Should be on OFPEC too. Then mods like Sebnam2 have HD weapons, like so bad its easier to aim away from someone to hit them (not really, just seems like it ;D), not to mention that Sebnam2 is very fun to use...

And as for your scripting needs, visit OFPEC's editor depot and look at the getting started section. Look at some tutorials and the whole world will be opened up to you, sort of. :hmm:

look at this thread: http://www.ofpec.com/yabbse/index.php?board=9;action=display;threadid=21177 for a soundpack.
I't should work, remember this script doesn't change dispersion of bullets it only changes High dispersion mags with normals ones when a unit gets killed.
If yo wan't even higher dispersion try dispersion beta scripts in scripting beta testing.
ECP features the dynamic Range soundpack which is the best one out there IMO.
If you you only want the original soundpack i can mail it to you.

you could always try catching the bullets with nearestobject and then changing their velocity so they were less likely to hit stuff. i did that when i made my RPG Path Deviation script which you can find in the pending section of the ed depot (for the moment anyway). sorry if you've already solved the problem.

since I`ve placed the FOX2_HDConvert file and the "FOX2_GearUp.sqs", "FOX2_HDConvAI.sqs", "init.sqs" files in the mission directory.
As in the directory where the mission pbos/folders lay...? Uh......

That error message means that the scripts need to be in the mission folder in another folder called FOX2_HDConvert[/i], and the FOX2_GearUp.sqs, FOX2_HDConvAI.sqs and init.sqs in the mission folder root...

Just look how it's done in the demo mission folder...
