From 3dsmax to o2
« on: 02 Jan 2005, 14:13:30 »
Hey all.

I'm sure that there has been lots and lots of discussion about this topic, but I'm too lazy to search for the old topics, I decided to start a new one. And surely this will catch more attention this way.  ;)

I talked about bringing models from max to o2 with some guys at the IRC allready but thought that I would get more honest answers (sorry guys) from here:

1. Is there limitations when importing models from max to o2.
2. What file types are suggested if doing so.
3. Do I need to do some extra job when importing models from max?

I remember a tutorial, where a jeep or something were imported to o2, and the faces or something needed to be turned or something, in order to achive proper shading.

Thanks.

If you save it as .asc file, and use the File > Open menu
And change the file format to ASCII 3DS file
It tends to open most of the time..
But try using .3ds first, if your lucky, it will import fine, and keep textures :)
Email/MSN me if you need any more help
