What is the difference between a PBO File and a RAR File; I just downloaded the new AEF-TrainV1.11pack and cannot get to work? Sorry if this is not posted in the correct place.  I am new to putting addons into games.

A RAR file is much the same as a ZIP file.

You need Winzip (or other programs), to open a zip file, but you need WinRar to open a RAR file.

PBO files are usually the result of unpacking either a zip or a RAR file containg addons or missions.

PBO files do not need to be unpacked.

The PBO files go in the relevant OFP folder......mission PBO's in the Missions folder and addon PBO's in the Addons folder.

.rar is a more compressed version of .zip ie. you can fit a much larger file in a smaller space to upload.

WinRar also opens .zip files, so you won't need winZip andmore :)
