How does one name a group?  I'm not talking about just naming the leader I amean how do you name the "group".  I read somewhere that there was a difference and I can't seem to find it again.

Once you name a group, how do you get someone to join or leave a group?

I think you need to put the following into the init line of the team leader:

Code: [Select]
groupname = group this
And replacing "groupname" with what ever you want the name of the group to be.

you can also do " this setgroupid ["Alpha", "groupcolor0"] that will call the group "Alpha 1"

No, you can't.   ;D

setGroupId is entirely different.    It refers to the callsign of the group, not the name you use with commands.   ;)   However, I'm glad you brought it up because this point often causes confusion and the explanation bears repitition.   :thumbsup:

this setgroupid ["Alpha", "groupcolor0"]

will return something like

(group Alpha NoColor West) whatever, syntax not guaranteed. So you can in theory name groups with SetGroupI as well.

You're talking nonsense, Armsty.   ::)   setGroupId doesn't return anything.

though you might be able to grab a group with something like

group alpha black 1

or

group alpha black

or

group leader alpha black 2

Dunno.  Not sure how you'd fit the side into that, which you would need to do.
