Sounds like a problem with the addon's config, to me.
You *might* be able to script a workaround by setdammaging the tankspikes to 0 whenever they get run over, but I doubt that would work well, if at all.
I'd suggest just using BIS's uber "wire" fences, that are completely indesructable. They look the same, only there are two of them, and some wire in between.
