Author Topic: as close as u can to gettin groups to fire on each other  (Read 594 times)

 Hi,

 Im brand new to the forum and im lookin to try to get as close as i can to denoting certian groups (within same sides even) as enemies against other groups. Although I have seen by paging thru the posts here I prolly cant do that, tryin to get as close as i can. The idea originally was to have resistance towns randomly war against each other, and to have players become enemies with certain resistance towns that they had attacked killing one or more resistance in those towns. But I can see that improvising will be the call here and my scripting skills are kinda limited in ofp so any scripting references would be reeaaallllyyyyy appreciated. The concept of using both the captive actor and the untested script i just discovered to find out who killed who would both be crucial to even having this thing work, if I cant find out if it was a player that killed one of the res townies that I cant turn that town against the player, only then can allow the integeral "pissed off ai" to function after the player kills 2 or 3 of em and then respawns with no hard feelings, which is kinda unrealistic.

 Anyhow, ive been putting some serious time into this project so any help would be appreciated.

Have you looked in the Editors Depot for tutorials and a command referrence?

 I will take a look there, i actually have the entire scripting command list(tho not updated). The mission is actually a variant of a cti version, so although its been taking time I have been learning what does what and how to change it as i study the script. Just found the Unit Killed script in there today and I will prolly be able to add some checks to hopefully get what I want, but it will take time- actually its kinda fun just kickin back and figuring out what does what, as long as I dont watch the clock lol.

 ok, just downloaded a few scripts here that might do it, have to check em out later.
 Thanks Planck, didnt realize the size of the resources avaliable so I will take a longer look there before posting next time.
