Dispersion for crew guns
« on: 21 Oct 2004, 02:08:31 »
Hello,

I went through the ed depot to pick up some good scripts for my mission and found one that seemed like it might do something, but found it needs a continal target to fire at.

I want my MG42's to have bullets highly dispersed when they come out to simulate Dday mgs. But I want all their bullets to be dispersed, not just when when they shoot on one target. It seems those MG42s can still put a round in my head from 400-600yds away in 1944... :P ::) :D

But I can't really think of how to do this. I know an eventhandler "fired" is used but after that I'm lost as to what a script would look like.

Help appreciated.

thanks

And I just tried setting setdammage to -10 and even -30. But it only affects troops, not mounted guns.

If anyone can still help, that'd be great. But I've got the skill at 0 for the gunners and they are aways away...

 :P

Just a guess but if you want them to just spray fire everywhere why not put two Invisible Hs a certain distance apart and make a script for him to target the Hs one after the other, while constantly firing??  ???

I checked out both ideas.

First I had invisible targets but they would not script well and screwed the mission up more.

Target Hs? Maybe. I've never done that before.  :P

About that script in the ed depot, it needs to be targeting a certain...

Crap you just made me realize something, I want the guns to shoot at the player, however it'll screw up if its tryin to target me over a dude infront of his gun... Well.... Hmm..
Back to the drawing board. :-[ :P :P

take a look at the JAM HD soldiers, they must have found a way to have higher dispersion

Well, wouldn't I need  MG42 mags? In JAMHD?
Nope.

I found that the script in the ed depot did do the trick, makes my DDay mission much better. No pauses in fire. Just whap whap, shewwww, tchew....! ;D

And its inaccurate most of the time.

Only problem with it is the MG42 dude tends to shoot way to his left and right sometimes for no rreason, may shoot his own dudes one of these days... :P ;D

thanks

well
when people are hit in the hands there aim is off right
just figure out how to get them hit only in the hands using setdammage.
