Ai infantry with Launchers: The agony
« on: 05 Oct 2002, 14:41:59 »

I don't suppose there is any way to create an addon or script that stops any unit under one's control from using a launcher if they're equipped with one. It is -so- annoying when you're in a hot zone and a guy with a launcher sees any enemy vehicle at all... and simply cranks off a shot from his launcher blowing it to smithereens.

Sure, you could tell him to hold his fire. Then his likely hood of him getting shot whilst skirmishing with other infantry is greatly increased. Its even more annoying when its a vacant vehicle. Something that may be potentially useful. Yet the ai deems fit to just blow it away even though its clearly not occupied. Its also pretty agonizing when you see something like a UAZ and they shoot that instead of the t72 just off a little bit in the distance.

well, i the player is in command, then u could just tell the unit with the launcher to target the dangerous vehicle and not a passive one. Or a simple trigger that trips when u get a certain distance from the dangerous vehicle or passive one.    condition:(yourdude distance passivecar < 200)
onactivation: yourdude dotarget dangerousvehicle
i think that is the correct formula if i remember correctly.
