hidden selections question
« on: 19 Nov 2004, 17:54:17 »
i did a search before i start the thread but i couldnt find an answer.
i'm building a snowmobile from ww2, and it has a big propeler in the back. wihtout it, the vehicle has ~3500faces. with the propeler it goes to 4500. has u can see it's high detailed, but it will only show up when the vehicle is with engine off. in the cpp file the propeler will be in the hidden selections,
now my question is... does ofp engine generate the propeler and then hide it? or does it skip the propeler rendering? hope u understand my question...
basicly what i want to avoid is that ofp engine lose time calculating a part that is hidden. if i cant avoid this i gota cut drasticly my propeler faces. and that would suck!!  :-\
thanks for the help. my work is pending until i got an answer.

You need to set up LOD's... and that should solve your problem.

Why is the propeller in the hidden selections anyway if you want it to show up?
