Okay, maybe "static" is not the correct term. What I mean is to have an LST model that is made as a building instead of a boat.
So here is what I was thinking, since in Resistance, collision detection is pretty good, you can put tanks and such on top of buildings.
So, if a new LST model was created as a building instead of as a boat it can be given a building animation (like opening doors) of the front part of the ship folding aside and the landing ramp coming down (see here:
http://www.lbfcu.org/traversecounty/modernlst.jpg). In addition, as a building, tanks and trucks can be setPos'ed inside of it, and helicopters can land on it and people can stand on it!!
If someone were really ambitious, they could model the inside of a control room for cutscenes or even better, raids--land a chopper on the pad, get out, take control room.
Yes, this would be a huge project. Perhaps FliPeR's new tool could help by offering the base model of the LST.
