when shots fired
« on: 09 Nov 2004, 17:11:01 »
Hi

I am wondering if there is a way to trigger an action when shots are fired?

I am using the new animations by flashpointgamer and I have enemys in a guard position. I want the animations turned off (which I know how to do) when a shot is fired (which I dont know how to do).

Is this possible?

This is a job for

Hunt around the Editors Depot and forums for information on eventHandlers, there is lots.   You need the "fired" one.

Search for "event handler". :P An eventhandler basically executes a bit of code or a script, whenever the event happens. So if you attach a fired EH to a unit, it will execute some code whenever that unit fires.

However, a simpler way to do it would involve a "detected" trigger. A little knows secret is that those triggers will go off when enough shots (that are loud enough) are fired by someone on the side to be detected. I believe it takes like 3 shots from an m16 to make it go off.
