Chaining "Loose" end and debriefing
« on: 17 Oct 2004, 10:43:13 »
In my mission there's an outro loose, but I'can't figure out how to chain it to the debriefing. I've tried to change the names of the end sections in the debriefing file (loose, lost, endloose, etc..), but without results.
Anyone can help?
Thanks in advance.

It appears not to be possible to have a 'loose' debrief.  I want to do one myself and the answer was - it is not possible, or at least no one knows how to do it.

You have to do it the tricky way:

When the mission ends, make an ending cutscene witch is the same as your outro lose... Use deleteUnit command to delete all units from the map and stuff like that...

Also "Merge" in editor will be useful... Try this...

The loose ending results in no debriefing text.    The fix is to have a hidden Objective which appears (in the debriefing) if they loose ending is activated.

Too late! :P
I've  pasted the outro loose into another mission's intro creating a "bonus" interlude. Not too bad, after all, as I'm creating a campaign. :)
However, thanks to all you guys, your hints are always appreciated and I'm sure they'll be prove usefull in the near future!!!

Does this mean you can still get the final debriefing *even* if the guy is killed?  I haven't messed with Outro's at all.

I really want to show the debriefing whether the player is dead or not, and haven't found a way yet....

If the player is killed you don't get a debriefing at all, you just get the onPlayerKilled camera script.    I suppose you could use a custom onPlayerKilled script that ends the mission and leads into whatever debriefing you want.

actually, a while back i unpboed the BIS missions to see how they made thier briefings, so that I could make a*complete* mission, and they did have an loose debriefing in it. Never used though. Its one of the debriefing sections in the briefing.html.

might check it out.

Please let me know when you do.  I put a 'Loose' briefing in my briefing file but nothing I did would make it display.
