Constant rain and SetRain
« on: 06 Oct 2004, 02:22:59 »
In one of my missions I am wanting constant rain the whole time, but the inbuilt weather controls can't get me this; on full settings the rain still goes on and off.

I searched and the most helpful topic was this one.  I went into Flashpoint, and the SetOvercast and SetFog commands worked great, but when I try SetRain I get an 'unknown operator: setrain' error.

I am using OFP version 1.46 and I'm wondering whether the SetRain command is a Resistance-required thing, and whether it can make the rain constant or if it's just on-and-off rain like in the weather settings dialog in the editor.

I do believe that setrain was introduced in resistance or a patch shortly afterwards..

AFAIK if you have 1.46 you can't have permanent rain.

GOTY/Resistance is pretty cheap nowadays, if you can find it.   Or try ebay.  Itt's well worth getting and not just for the rain thing.
Plenty of reviewed ArmA missions for you to play

My brother has the GOTY edition and SetRain works on that.  However, it can still stop raining, but I assume that this can be solved by using a script with the SetRain/Overcast/Fog commands that fires every few seconds.
