I won't Solve this thread yet since it seems to be stimulating discussion, but I've more less got it nailed.    +array does exactly what I want - crystallise the array so that its not constantly changing as the script deals with it.

In fact, the whole thing has been a double success because I've managed to consolidate 5 triggers into 1, which in a lag heavy mission like this one is more than worthwhile.    

I need hardly add that the script still doesn't actually work.   Well not properly anyway.   However, this particular aspect has been solved.     Many thanks all.

Now I should take my own advice and read the comref again.   I've done it several times but obviously I'm overdue for another run.  I suspect I didn't understand this bit the last time I came across it.

Nah, I think OFP is closer to BASIC than anything else (well, I only know TI calculator BASIC, but they are almost the same I think).

Any C++ gurus know any tricks?

Well, in Java you just make a method that creates a new object, then copies the data over from the original object, and then returns the new object (which is now an exact copy of the old one). Same in C++, I believe. In ofp it's easier, you just do a = +b .

Java and C++ are 90% the same, and thats not a stat i made up ;D
