Script "explosion.sqs" not found
« on: 12 Aug 2004, 23:42:59 »

I am setting up my own mission in the editor and I keep getting the error : script "explosion.sqs" not found.  I have a bomb set to go off when a triggers condition is met and when it is met the error pops up.  The error does not occur when I preview in mission editor, only in MP mode.

Are you sure the script was in the mission folder before you exported to MP?

Try UnPBOing it and see if the script is indeed there.

Thanks alot for the quick reply.  I do not know what you mean by unPBOing it though.  Also which mission folder are you talking about? again thanks alot!!!

I thought you meant you were getting the error when you tried your mission in MP.

If you are still previewing it in the editor make sure the script is in the mission folder.

If you saved your mission in the editor, the mission.sqm will be in its own folder, path is usually:

\Users\YourName\missions\NameOfYourMission

So if you saved your mission as say 'killthemall', the mission.sqm will be in:

\Users\YourName\missions\killthemall

The script should also be placed into this folder.

You are the man!! thanks alot for your help!  I am still having the same error though.. This is exactly what I am doing:

I have made a mission with a trigger that detonates a bomb when conditional presence is met.
When in mission editor the scenario runs perfect.  The bomb explodes and no errors occur.
Then I export the mission to MP and put the "explosion.sqs" file into the mission folder that ytou told me to.
After that I restart my game and attempt to play in MP mode.
When I drive into the trigger I get the error: script "explosion.sqs" not found.
I also exported the mission under a different name to SPL and copy the file into that mission folder.
In SPL mode, with my mission works great and the bomb detonates as projected.
So the mission will just not work under MP mode.

Do you have any other ideas to resolve my issue?

Thanks alot man!

The script needs to be in the mission folder before you export it to MP, otherwise the mission is exported to MP without the script.

EDIT: Ignore that....I just re-read your last post.
Get one of the UnPBOing utilities from the Editors Depot......Amalfis PBO Decrypter 1.5 is the best.

UnPBO the MP mission pbo to check if the script is in there.

No, I think Planck was right.

Make sure the script is in there BEFORE export.  If that isn't it, make sure you spelled everything right.  That's usually the most common problem I have. ;)

If all else fails, get the Make PBO thing of ofp.info
And run it on your killthemall.intro (Aka mission folder :P), and move the PBO to the MPMIssion folder
Thats all exporting it does, really
