You're not the first:  one of the tricky things about getting started in mission editing is the question of Objectives.

Conceptually, Objectives are associated with triggers.    Triggers detect when something happens and then "trigger" the consequences.    With an Objective, the consequence is usually a green tick on the Plan page of the Briefing and possibly the end of the mission.

But what is the trigger detecting?   Well whatever you like.    A particular unit(s) being not alive; the player being in a particular place; whatever you like really.

For the technical aspects read snYpir's "How to use Objectives and init.sqs".

I wrote something about this the other day ... wait ... read this.

Hi there,

Another useful tool if u dnt have it already is a program called Chris's OFP script editor, search for it in the editors depot.

It easily creates briefings and overviews + u can put ur objectives in it to, although u will need to know the coding to get them to get work. Not very hard though.

Need any more help just ask, i had problems with this at first but its easy once u know how so im willing to help you.

Basically, you make objectives in the briefing to use them in the game.

<p><a name="OBJ_0"></a>Clear the Post.</p>

This is just an example from one of my briefings, located in the "Plan" section.

Then if I wanted the objective to be completed when the base is clear, I'd put this in the "On Activation" field of the trigger:

"0" objstatus "done"

Vualah.

(By the way, this is my first feedback on the forums  ;D)
