Damn Chopper Pilots...
« on: 24 Jul 2004, 03:06:12 »
I was viewing my intro for the first time after I completed it and everything was fine. The characters faced the right way, everything was sychronized and timed properly, but... it has to screw up one way, doesn't it? My chopper pilot who I plan to pick up three soldiers misjudges where the helipad is and crashes into the ground.

I haven't tested it yet because the odds are pretty low, but if I put the chopper's skill right up to full, is there a chance that he will crash in the intro?

Try makin his waypoint speed slower. Or make another move waypoint right before he picks up the ppl. Or if there is no real helipad put one there. Or if a reg white one is there, put 15 invisible ones on the same spot. ;D :P

Choppers are finicky. I don't like them much unless I'm controlling them.:joystick:

LOL, 15 inivisible white ones huh? Well... that's a good idea. But I'll slow him down, to.

Thanks.

There are chopper tutorials and scripts in the Ed Depot.    You should definitely have his skill set to max.
Plenty of reviewed ArmA missions for you to play

Another idea might be to have him turn auto-hover on just before he lands...that way he won't be coming in at Mach 8.

Remember to turn that off after or you got one slow chopper. :P
