some ideas to add realism
« on: 21 Jul 2004, 11:51:35 »
some ideas have ocurred to me while playing OFP, at least the ones i can remember as the action and violence gets me in a trance-like state ;D
different armor depth in tanks and APC
to add realism it would b nice to have more chances to kill a tank if u hit it from behind where the armor is thinner.
enemies surrender and panic under heavy fire
it would b also cool that the ai can make their machine guns to fire
to an area where the enemy was spotted (supression fire)
weapons jam
this one i think is very important...and gives certain realistic advantage to the more jam-free AK's. (some US soldiers in vietnam used captured AK in close combat as they are more reliable than M16)
RPG's when fired create a trail of hot gases behind the launcher...
any1 behind the rpg's would b fried/roasted to death. the soldier launching the RPg should make sure hes not very close to a wall cos the gases would kill him
hand to hand combat (is that the english expression??)
more cries, pain. blood ppl die too soon and too quietly...
seagulls can shit on the enemy :)
let the leader to know who is shooting.
this it'd b very useful to kick the a**holes that ruin the plans when ur getting in position, it does'nt need to give u the name of whos shooting everytime, simply if leader gives the dont shoot order and someone breaks it. b informed about it
i have more, even sillier than this ones, in my head somewhere

I think the "enemies surrender and panic under heavy fire" thing can be done, but another way, more if they've suffered heavy loses, they surrender..
The seagulls thing.. You've been playing Metal Gear Solid 2, I guess :P
"different armor depth in tanks and APC" - Could be done, I suppose.. There was a sand bag armour thing made, but it wasn't all that great
"hand to hand combat "
Can't get close enough to hit anyone.. You ever tried sneaking up on an enemy..?
:)
