The real question is: was it intentionally left out by BIS or was it an accident? I bet my money on intentional. Maybe BIS thought it so that the game is three years old - let's make it alwailable for the most so that they can see how good game it is and when OFP2 comes out they'll run to the nearest store and buy it.

Of course we'll run to the nearest store and buy it! What else would we do? Wait around with 1.96 for two months so OFP2 will go down in price? :D ;D

Doesn't matter, my CD drive is okay, not great, but somewhat fast, it annoys the hell out of me when it whines with OFP in there. Its hard trying to hear the sounds while WHHHIIINE! ::)

It was, in my view, definitely intentional.   In fact I discussed it with a couple of pals before they did it - at this stage of the product lifecyle its the obvious thing to do, and we know that Marek and co. are smart people.

I don't  understand... You think BIS removed CD checking on purpose? What for, exactly? To allow illegal copies to be played without limitation? I don't really think so...

why not? its 3 years old... costs less than £10 to buy, and probally hasnt seen any sales for a while... also allows the LAN community to use it more and gets more people hooked, like i was with the free demo - worked on me, why not others...

when ofp2 comes out, they'll have a larger audience to sell to

Can't they simply make an announce on their website, saying something like "OFP is now free, you can legaly download it through your favorite P2P network"?
And you know, the CD protection has never been a barrier to playing OFP, even without a nocd crack...

Noon416 warned me that if you give your CD away to others to get a multiplayer going it will do the FADE deal and the CD is destroyed since its the same version of the game on two or more PCs and the game itself might go bye bye to.  :'(

Good thing I didn't try it then... :P

I tried that (I was never the original owner of CWC and gold upgrade) and I'm perfectly fine. No problems at all. My friends stuff is fine too.

Hah. I won't let anything happen to my OFP-GOTY either. It's just so... just so damn beautiful!!!

Anyway, back to my original set of questions... about starting another line with text in a cutscene.

How do I do this through a script? I tried using the "/n" in two different ways but for some reason it just don't do it. Any suggestions?

\n after the last word you want on that line... its as simple as that - i'm referencing from a working script here, so i know it works

For the flashpoint title screen you just need

titleRsc ["Flashpoint", "PLAIN"]

I can't remember the names of the others, but I think you can make them appear from a trigger.

If you want your own, then first make the image and put it in your mission folder.   Then define it in description.ext

For example:

class RscTitles
{
   class naughty2
   {
      idd=-1;
      movingEnable=0;
      duration=8;
      name="naughty2";
      controls[]={"Title"};
      class Title: RscPicture
      {
         text="naughty2.jpg";
         x=0.300000;
         y=0.000000;
         w=0.500000;
         h=1.000000;
      };
   };
};

And use

titleRsc ["naughty2","plain",0.1]

when you want it.   There is a tutorial somewhere because I used it, though I can't remember where.
