Pic borders
« on: 20 Jul 2004, 02:47:57 »
Not sure which board to post this on but I have to try somewhere, someone tell me if this is the right one or not plz.

Anyway, How do I give briefing pics a border like the official CWC ones. What I really want to know is if there is an official command to do so or if I have to do it on my own. If I do have to do it on my own them I'm not too bothered (I won't go out of my way to find something about it) but if someone gives me help about it here then I'll be very thankful.

Thx in advance.

Hi Cool Z

ok the only way to add a border to a pic is to edit the pic and add one your self, there is no command that will do this for you

cheers, Philly

Hallo,

take a grafic program put a light grey frame around your picture. Add some shadow (dark line at the buttom and the right side) and you are done

It's just that I am pretty bad with graphics stuff (you know, I just make it look messy) and I was hoping that, at the very least, there was a more complicated, yet neater, method of doing it.

Will paint do? And if so, I have a problem with it. When I open the pic using paint it starts at the top right. I NEVER use paint. How do I move the pic down a bit so I can add a border along the top and the right.

Thx in advance, Cool Z.

Paint will not do. Paintshop Pro or Photoshop will do.

Copy a BIS pic.   Delete the pic itself leaving the border.  Insert your own pic.   Hey presto!

Oh yeah, that's one thing that's always bothered me. .pac pics, I guess I need that paintshot or photoshop thing to open them? Is it downloadable? Can I get it simply by google searching or will I need to register with the web before?

As always, thx in advance.  8)

Photoshop comes in two versions Photoshop Elements 2 and Photoshop 8 (I think they are now up to).  They are both produced by Adobe.

Elements comes free with many digital cameras and scanners now.  Or it costs I think around GBP50.  Photoshop 8 costs more twice what I paid for my first car.  It was a wreck and it was a long time ago - but you get the idea!
