Stopping Vehicle Music
« on: 17 Jul 2004, 15:42:02 »
I have been currently experimenting with adding music to my vehicles a la BF Vietnam, using the "addaction" command. I can get the music to play but I can't seem to get it to stop.

I am using mono sound files and implementing them using the "say" command.

I just want a script that will fade THAT particular sound and not all game sounds like "fadesound" does. I've even tried:

setdammage 1;
setdammage 0;

But that just doesn't work.

Any suggestions appreciated.

make them say something else ;) like a blank file  :)

[edit]

by the way, remember that ofp doesn't like sound files too small... make sure its longer than 10secs i think

I didn't know that.   What problem does it cause?
Plenty of reviewed ArmA missions for you to play

OT:
I can add to that.
Though I never really knew it was this, but now I read this. I had a sound file ~2-3 secs long....everything alright...but ofp wouldn't play the sound. It did show the attached stringtable text...but no sound.

yes... ofp doesnt like short sound files... it just won't play them - i had to rack my brains and pull my hair out before Sui told me that short sound bytes are a no no for ofp - silly hey....  i think u have to have it longer than 10-15 secs or something like that... its easy enough, just add a 10 second silence after the sound you want - solves the problem.

I'm sorry to say that doesn't work, my vehicle simply plays both tracks simultaneously.

I was hoping that the unit would stop playing its current track and change to the silent one or the silent one would play over the top of the initial one.

Thanks for the suggestion anyhow, I'm sure there's a workaround  :)
