Malaya

Hello folks

I have been working on addons based on the British and Indonesian conflict in malaya during the 60s. It started as just me mucking around. But I would like to know iff any one would be interested in playing a malaya mod.

here is a picture of a blackburn beverly transport from the conflict. Still working on the texture for it, black and white photos are a killer.

hey there Kabbab_doom  thats a nice model, only thing is that you have gotten the dates wrong, the Malayan Emergency as it was called was from 1952-1955. The British were engaged in Borneo in the 60's. Heres a site with some info http://www.somerset.gov.uk/archives/sli/malaya.htm.
I hate to be picky but these dates are important.

A jolly handy site for this sort of thing.

http://www.britains-smallwars.com/main/index1.html

There were two areas of conflict:  the Malayan Peninsula in the 50s and Borneo (against the Indonesians) in the 60s.     Both were based in what is now Malaysia, hence the confusion.

They are unfashionable conflicts now because the British Commonwealth won both, largely thanks to good soldiering and effective hearts and minds campaigns, but it would be great to have such a mod.

The Blackburn Beverly, who'd have thought it ... if somebody will make a model of an ugly old brute like that then there's no stopping this community.  ;D   Well done m8, go for it.
Plenty of reviewed ArmA missions for you to play

I was confused about the whole malaya thing, well it shall be Borneo from now on then.

To much modern stuff doing the rounds for flashpoint. Borneo has a good mix of modern(ish) and 40s/50s kit.

Here is a pic of a L4A4 bren gun i whiped up today.
