Manual firing
« on: 22 Sep 2002, 08:38:47 »
Hello again! 8)
This question is about the weapon and ammo object tree
found in the command reference manual!
Now I don't know if anything regarding this area has changed
from ver1.30 to ver1.46 but now I can't seem to get any of
these to work. Has anyone got a better list worked out.
Epecially to do with choppers, machineguns, rockets.
Thanks in advance. ;D

Uuuum  ::) did you get any new vehicles when ya downloaded 1.46  :o ???
neah? Well, that's coz none were included - 'twas a bugfix only.

Thus: Between 1.30 and 1.75 (Resistance), no new (official) vehicles!
This, off course, means that you will have to use the 1.3 weapon/ammo list
made by our sweet radish farmer boy, Hud, also known as Son  :o ;D
::) that is if yer playing OFP with some version between 1.30 to 1.46 obviously!

In short - get outta here, lilly!  :moon: ( j/k )
And re-install the game INCLUDING yer recently bought RES upgr.  8) ;D

Laterz m8  :-*

PS: might it be that you made the syntax stuff wrong?

i.e. we name a chopper "lilmat", then it wouldn't rock to put the following in a WP :

lilmat fire [lilmatGun, multiple times] ( :beat: )

:D but this would be ok :

 lilmat fire ["zuniLauncherOH", "ZuniLauncherOH"]

...provided it's an "OH58" chopper  :) (though she'll only fire ONE frikkin rocket)  :P ::)

And a TANK would need this syntax :

TankName  fire  ["GUN120", "shell120", "Shell120"]

(weaponName, Muzzle, Magazine) as far as I can recall

There are a couple of weapon/ammo names that changed with Resistance (for some reason)...

For instance the Hind's Gun was changed from:

Machinegun30

to

Machinegun30E

To find out what the weapon names of a unit are, make a trigger like this:

Trigger

Radius: 0,0
Condition: Radio Alpha
Condition field: this
OnActivation: hint format ["%1",(weapons unit)]

That will display a hint with an array of the names of the weapons a vehicle/unit has.

Hey guys! 8)
Thanks for the replies!! ;D
Now I am not working on res editing!! I am just editing from
1.46.
OK!! So --TOMB--
I have all the upgrades and res, I had to reinstall everything
form scratch, because I had to reformat!! (BUGGER >:()
I run 1.46 when not playing res, which is of course 1.75
It of course may be the wrong syntax. I do have problems with making an m60 unit fire more than one round!
Now I never had this prob before! I was at least able to make
it work. But I will keep trying!! Thanks TOMB!! :P

p.s    lilmat fire["TOMB","TOMB"]   BOOM!!!!!    YOUR DEAD!!!
 ;D ;D ;D

---To Sui---
Thanks!! ;D I'm not very good at this sort of thing. With variables and such! But great, I will have a look!!

Well All I can say is I will keep trying and see what I can work
out!! ::) ;D
