Is it possible to use maya 4.5 for making 3d models for ofp...???
if so, wich plugins do i need??

If maya can export models in .3ds format, then yes, it's possible. It's also possible to creat OFP animations in maya,

Yup, use the open menu, look in the file type box
Maya can deff be used to model stuff :)

BTW, asc is more "o2 openable" I've found :)

That's what i use for all my OFP modelling and texturing.
And i use "Deep Exploration" to convert to .3ds. But i think there are some plugins that will export .3ds straight from within Maya.  I'm also considering writing a .p3d import /export plugin for Maya, but it's not very high on my priorities list right now.

But can't you save the p3d in o2 to a 3ds/asc files
And open it in Maya?

i just wanna know, cos i dont want to use o2....if i export it to .3ds...is there a way to convert it to a .p3d without o2???

Something like P2MS in the editors depot

You drag your P3D file onto the EXE, and it saves it to a ms3d file.. MIlkshake 3d I guess.. That quite a lot of programs will open (LithUnwrap, that can save as ASC and 3DS, among quite a few others)
Though its easier to use O2 :P
