playmove in cargo
« on: 28 Jun 2004, 18:28:42 »
Will a loon do a playmove/switchmove when its in cargo in a chopper?

I've tried it with no result:  no error message but no animation either.   I suspect it just doesn't work but can anybody shed any light on this?

Many thanks.

One might assume that being in cargo is already an animation and that's why any animation wouldn't work.
I base my assumption on the fact that there are cargo animations listed in your playmove/switchmove reference  :)

Hey macguba !

I'm no expert on this, but AFAIK I think that when a unit is in cargo, they are already playmoving an animation, that of the vehicle itself. Thus the only workaround that I can think of is to loop and setpos the unit and playmove the wanted anim. But darn it, if it's for a cutscene, that'll sure lack fluidity. :-\

Ig.

Lol !

That's 'cause you're an admin' and you can tinker with the site's clock :beat:

Hehe.. now we're messing up macguba's thread, but I must reply and correct that I'm most definitely not an admin at OFPEC. I'm just a working bee in the deep darks of the missions depot and I have no business in the forum or site settings and the database in the least.  :)

Thanks chaps, I thought as much but just wanted some expert opinion to be sure.   It's not important, just a minor detail in an Intro.

I wouldn't worrry about the time thing - the ofpec clock is mad anyway.

Oh god no, Armsty!!

Add a bit of laggy environment and the dudes at the cargo are hanging in mid-air doing their moves... ;)

I think the reason why the switch/Play moves won't work is due to the fact that the proxies are given a default anim in the config, like Igor D. already said...

cargoAction[]= {"ManActUazCoDriver","ManActCargo"};
(cargo proxy 'action' from the BIS BRDM)...
