Diemaco C7A1 release in a few days
« on: 22 Sep 2002, 03:34:51 »
Hi all,

After the release of O2, I got to finish my Diemaco C7A1 assault rifle by myself. I'm currently the newest member of the DKM MOD group.

After the awesome OV-10 Bronco, DKM will release the Diemaco C7A1. Main features are:
- semi, burst and full auto firing
- 3.5x Elcan optical sight
- Special (realistic) reticle, designed for use in low-light conditions

The release will take place no later than wednesday. I will try to add an extra variant to the package before the release date.

If anyone might wonder: this is not a ripoff.

Frandsen used an early version of my Diemaco C7A1 for his own Danish M95 assault rifle. With my permission, but keep in mind it's my work and I'm not ripping off anything.

This latest C7A1 is of a higher standard than any older version.

Sorry. A post on the FP1985 forums suggested that it looked an awfull lot like Frandsens M95. Just wanted to make sure there's no misunderstanding about who created it.

[edit]

Release will be this wednesday. It will be available from http://www.dkm-mod.mkdi.net/

Looks good. I used one of those when I was in the Canadian Forces, and I can't wait to use that baby.

You going to make the other C-series weapons?

I'm currently working on the LSW.
That's probably the last C series I'm going to make.

I'm not sure what will be next. Maybe an FN MAG, or something completely different. Dutch marines, a USSR T90 tank, a transport ship, Mi28 HALO, NH90 Helicopter? I still don't know. Or maybe I'll just take some time for my website.

I wouldn't worry about choppers, there are already so many good ones and that seems to be the popular thing to make.

Could you instead work on new island objects like older wwii era buildings and stuff, windmills, new houses and more.

Or actually, what I'd like to see implemented, and a lot for a long time, is a pickup truck with an m60 or m2 in the back. It'll have gunner, 2 passengers in back, 1 passenger in front, and a driver.

Good point. Simple buildings would be nice.

I had already picked up the idea to maybe recreate St. Philipsland, a real-life island in the Netherlands. It's a 30min drive from my home, which means I could make it quite realistic.

I've put an untextured map of it into OFP, and went there to compare it. I can tell you it would be nearly 1:1 realistic. And very boring by the way.
 ;D

(For all dutchies in this forum: it's part of Zeeland, to the north of Tholen, west of Breda)

But, before I decide anything, I will finish my C7 LSW.
