Stop AA fire tanks
« on: 16 Jun 2004, 03:25:43 »
Is there a way to stop AI AA soldior from firing tanks using stinger launcher? ???

I found it need more than 10 AA missiles to destroy a T-80 ;D

How to stop it? :wow:
The propeller is just a big fan in front of the plane used to keep the pilot cool. When it stops, you can actually watch the pilot start sweating.

Yeah I've noticed this annoying quirk of the AI. Maybe you can alter its threat model in its .cpp, like make tanks not a primary target. Anyone with .cpp expierence could probably do this. :P ;)

My last .cpp thing I did to make a soldier with kevlar body armor ended up crashing OFP. Sorry, but I dunno much about this.

We're talking about creating an addon here.   This is a whole different ballgame from mission editing.     If you do it, you'll have to distribute the addon with your mission.

There are tutes on addon creation in the Ed Depot and several boards on this forum are devoted to the topic.
Plenty of reviewed ArmA missions for you to play

A small trick would be to use the knowsabout command. When AI knowsabout one of the air units you put out it'll addmagazine a missile and been dotarget and dofired at that aircraft. When he doesn't know about an aircraft, simply delete the rocket.

What if there was 100 AA soldiers and a heli popped up every 3 minutes?    :P

Sounds like a solution to me, nice thinking Armstrong.  ;)
