How do I De-Binarize addons? Is it possible?
« on: 23 May 2004, 07:46:44 »
Hey, Ive used the search button, but doesn't look like anyone's asked this yet, sorry if they have!
How do I de-binarize addons? Ive tried using about 5 or 6 different de-pbo/un-pbo/pbo-extractor, etc. tools, and it's just not working! It always says 'List index out of bounds', or 'unable to decompress', or just creates an empty folder! Please help, I really need to edit this addon!

Use this tool but dont forgot to ask permission first by the author to use his model if you want to release it to public and give the orginal maker of addon credits ;)
If it is for personal use dont release it to public ;)
Have fun :)

UnPBO a addon or De-PBO it and use MLOD-Explorer open up a p3d file and use save in mlod option and load in O2 to edit it to your needs ;)

See, this is back to my original trouble, every un/de pbo tool ive tried {ive used depbo, unpbo 1.3, un pbo1.5 and a few others} just returns an error when it tries to get at the pbo, the unpbo 1.5 error is just "Unable to unpack file", any ideas?!

Theres a few, the NZDF infantry pack, ALL the UKF DPM Pack PBOs, Kabal's AWM pack, a fair few!

The smallest of them is Kabal's AWM pack, it's about 3.5MB

ODOL Explorer is in the Addons Depot. This is used after the pbo is unpacked, and converts ODOL (binarized) .p3d models to MLOD (editable in Oxygen).

best set of *supported* tools you are going to get is

https://dev-heaven.net/projects/mikero-pbodll/files

i fully support all engines from the very first demo version of cwr, thru to the latest patches of toh/arrowhead

you need
debpbo.dll/extactpo.exe and/or Eliteness.exe (a gui version)
Just say no to bugz
