Well, based on my experience the OFP engine don't like units put on top of each other or inside or whatever, they will just bounce away and crap like that.

Ah, but, Armsty, this is not true for:
LSD - you can walk around the decks, park vehicles in the cargo bay, and choppers on the pad. Until the thing starts to move, when everyone slides off... ;D
HMS Hermes carrier - Not actually a vehicle, it's a static object. But objects (planes and people included) can be placed on it's surface, without trouble.
But yeah, the setPos command should sort you out merby1.
Stick it in the INIT field of the unit you want to place. Experiment with different heights until you get it about right.
Note that if the aircraft has a pilot in it when it is created, it will immediately try to take off (plunging to it's death in the water). The same is true if you put the pilot in the plane afterwards. See
