Missing Addons
« on: 05 May 2004, 06:33:23 »
I have done a search for this topic, but found nothing related. Can anyone assist me with Missing Addons within MP Mission making.  :'( The error messages always relate to addons I have used and exist in my res/addons folder and always seem to be directed at my latest addons, ie USMC, LSR2JAM or icp_rfwp, cannot load mission: mission addon usmc8xmag or LSR2JAM or icp_weaponpack. The errors are received during the making of the map and still exist once exported to MP Mission. Any help would be most appreciated.  :)

This normally means you don't have these addons anymore and try to load a mission that contains them. Is this the case ?

If so, just open up your mission.sqm with a notepad and delete the addon entries in the first lines (and near the bottom, if you also included intro / outro with these addons).

DrStrangelove,

it may look like to be caused by what you said for
the first look, but i'd suggest to follow the link below
and read what Benu had to say at the official forums (it's
the 4th post of the thread):

No, the addons are definately in the res/addons folder, perhaps the o.pbo file has not recognised the files as existing, as it maps the addons in your folders doesn't it? Our clan has carried-out a cleanslate policy, due to too many members having different addons.  :o Everyone had to delete all existing addons within the main addons and the res/addons folders, then from an ftp site, download all clan official addons to the res/addons folder, with only the original addons in the main addons folder. Are there known issues of addons not being created in the mission sqm file? All the addons appear to work, its just I constantly receive error messages. :-\
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the link Chris Death, would seem to be talking about a Linux Server setup, of which I am neither.  :(

If you get an addon error message while joining a game, but aren't kicked out of the mission, then the main reason for this is an "Addon Dependancy" error.

Its an error created during the construction of the addon source code and nothing to worry about.

Yeah Taggart, the thread starts dealing about Linux
server setup, but the post i meant (number 4) deals about
addon dependancy in general like what Terox mentioned.

The outcome will be: it's not your fault but the addon itselve's
fault.
