Hi,
I'm making a mission where a mech infantry unit attacks a town. They dismount their M2A2's and move from cover to cover, each fireteam covering the other while it's moving. I want the M2A2's to move to a good position to where they can support the infantry with their HE guns. They move to the position but they just sit there like idiots while my infantry fights alone. I've played as the gunner of one of the M2A2's and the enemy infantry is in plain sight, however for whatever reason they won't fire on them(at most maybe one or two ineffective shots). Also, is there any way to make the armored units stronger? I don't know very much about Bradleys but I think that they can take more than one RPG hit to the front without exploding.

I ran into the same problem when I was throwing a bunch of infantry into a field and having Abrams attack them. I wanted the Abrams to stay at a safe distance where they couldn't be hit by RPGs and simply blow away the infantry with HEAT but I can't figure out how to make them reload HEAT and fire at the infantry from a safe position(and only after the infantry is weakened move towards them). Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks for any help.

Well, you can reduce the damage with an eventhandler. Check out a tute in ed depot. Then have a look at SnYpir's rather outdated (the age before eventhandlers) script how to make units tougher or something like that. Try raising the skill on the Bradley, might work to take out those infantry tarts. :D

Thanks for your reply. Yeah, I set the Bradleys to maximum skill level and they still won't do anything. I'm thinking of forcing them to doFire on a target with a script but the only thing they'll shoot at is barrels(and at a long distance they won't shoot at all). I could try sending them in closer, but they'll just get chewed up by all the antiarmor guys in the town.

Try using DoWatch on either an object or a position. If you do watch an enemy unit the tank will track that man, it may even fire on its own if it can. If you use DoWatch with a position you can target a general area.

Once your DoWatch command works use the Fire command with the weapon name rather than DoFire.

Just commenting on what Pravit said earlier; "I don't know very much about Bradleys but I think that they can take more than one RPG hit to the front without exploding."

Thats actually not really the case. I've seen a video from Iraq in which a Bradley gets hit by a RPG on its right side. It didnt explode but it was pretty much put out of action, and the guys inside were wounded pretty badly.

What i would do to get the bradleys to what u described is to have the hold or guard the area around the town your attacking. They will then attack any units they perceive is a hazard, but they will not move away from the area they have been designated to hold/guard.
