radio message names
« on: 30 Apr 2004, 02:16:40 »
I have a radio script set up so when a trigger is activated the radio messages play in order.

When i get to the trigger, the messages all play just fine, but when the messages that are said by the player show, it says it says my callsign is Bravo Black 1.

I was just wondering how to change that bravo black 1 to something else.

thanks

I'm not sure but if your using sidechat, each unit has a specific name Alpha pink 2, bravo blue 1, charlie grey 8 and I think its done by order their put on the map. First units take up Alpha roster and so on. There's another way to change who says what, try a editing tutorial or sumthing like that.

Guess:   [west, base, sidechat] "Go and scrub those toliets private!"

Or... you can put a line like this in his init field:

this setGroupID ["alpha","Groupcolor0"]

Where Alpha is the units callsign, and Groupcolor the 'colour' the unit is assigned.

Just note that the callsigns range from:
  • Alpha - Hotel (phonetic alphabet)
  • November, Whiskey, Yankee, Zulu
  • One, Two, Three
  • Buffalo, Convoy, Guardian
...and any that I may have missed out :)

The group colours go from zero (no colour) up to about 9 I think?? Anyway, have a play around until you get the colour you're after ;)

Hope that helps you out...

And if you're using Tonahl island, take a look into their
readme, and you'll wonder about how much more callsigns
you've got from there.
