Visible parachutes
« on: 30 Apr 2004, 22:40:09 »
Is there a way to get a parachute placed on the map and be visible (like on the ground)?

I really need a standard BIS object that looks something like a backpack/gear bag, and the parachute is the only thing I could think of.  Then I found out they don't show up when I place them in the editor?

Also, is there a way to place that butt-pack looking thing that automatically gets created when you drop gear?

Use this command

object = "pipebomb" camcreate (getpos player)

its the simplist way to create the bag type thing At your feet, I think its what you are describing

Grab the editor upgrade (either Kegety's or my own-- link is in my signature), and there is a 'parachute pack' object, among many others. In my editor upgrade, it is under the catagory "EU - Furnishings".

Gen. Barron,

Got your addon and got the typeOf for the parachute pack...now if create a mission and use createVehicle (and don't place the object through the editor), then the mission should not require the editor addon...correct?

Or is the addon not required anyway, even I did place an object in the editor?

The mission will still require the editor addon to play, even if you createVehicle the object. When you run the mission in the editor, once the pack is 'createvehicled', OFP will add the editor addon to your mission's list of required addons.
