Problem with "EditorUpdate102"
« on: 26 Apr 2004, 16:08:25 »
I downloaded "Operation Firelord" and the required "editorupdate102" and installed that, but when the mission starts it says "missing addon: editorupdate102" or something like that and the mission doesn't work.
Any Ideas?

Also...where's the better place to post this?

well, did you place the editoraddon.pbo in your ofp/res/addons folder? Maybe you extracted it there using "extract to path" in your archiver, creating another addons-folder within the addons-folder?

Otherwise, it should work. Or you could try Kegetys Compatible Addon, though I cannot recall what its name is.

Cheers

This is what I did:

I assume you got res. Anyway, download the old editorupdate (Gunslingers) and put it in your original Addons folder, not resi folder, replacing it with Keg's. Now play the game in 1.46 and tadaaa! It works!

No, I downloaded gunslinger's but it still doesn't work...I'm using 1.96, Resistance, and I put it in the original but it doesn't work.

Argh.

Have you tried play it in 1.46 instead of 1.96?

maybe you dl'd a old version of 102. I think the current one is v11--its v11 even though its still called 102.
maybe the mission is made with a older version.
(maybe it doesn't matter about the version-im just guessing here)

Missions made using Gunslingers editor addon (meaning, made in OFP v1.46 and below) CANNOT be played in resistance! This is due to BIS changing the requirements for addon declaration in res. So like Armstrong said, you need to play the mission using v1.46, using Gunslinger's editor update in your addons folder (NOT the res/addons folder!)

Insert your CD, and click on the 'preferences' button on the auto-run program. At the top, there should be a combo box that says "Product:", and "Operation Flashpoint Resistance" is selected. Click on this box, and change it to "Operation Flashpoint", then click start. Now you should be running v1.46.

Remeber to replace Gunslinger's update with Kegety's when you are through with the mission though,  since Gunslinger's isn't compatible with res. Also, remember to switch back to using Resistance in the preferences (reverse of what you did above).

Have fun  8)

You need addons, editorupgrade102 and Resistance Editorupgrade should both work. Editorupgrade102 for 1.46 size 93kb and Resistance Editorupgrade102 219kb. You also must have patch 1.91 to install 1.96 to work in game property. Use Editorupgrade102 both are in OFP/ADDON folder.  go get editorupgrade both here:
