Player's ai squad follow in convoy
« on: 14 Apr 2004, 13:48:56 »
Maybe I've searched for the wrong things, but I can't find the answer. The convoy answers don't really apply...

I want a player's squad to split up and get into 2 or 3 vehicles and follow the player's lead vehicle. I've tried conditional waypoint and triggers (assignasdriver and dofollow), but nothing works.

I just thougt it would be more interesting than having the whole squad pile into 1 truck.

I'm also having treouble turning the headlisghts off. I don't know how to make the drivers do it. "combat" mode just makes them go prone and never get in.

Any smart people have ideas? Thanks

assignAsX only assigns the loon to a vehicle, it does not order anyone in...

I think the following might work:

loonX assignAsDiver truckX
do this to all your loons you wanna get into some vehicle,
then
[loon1,loon2,loon3,...loonN] orderGetIn true

No guarantees there  ::)

Oh, and try setting the behaviour of the drivers, AFTER they have climbed into their respective vehicle, to stealth... That may work...
In general, the AI tends to keep their lights on at night...

Thanks Hater_kint.

Still having probs, but the "stealth" was a great tip.

I might just let the player order the guys in and order them to follow. it works.

Thanks again.
