UH-1 and AH-64
« on: 02 Apr 2004, 21:40:36 »
Ok, There is not alot of good Huey's out there except the ones in the Nampack2 and Capt. Moores. The ones in the NamPack2 seem to get shot down REAL easy with only slight weapons fire. Anyone going to make a really good Support Huey Gunship, Nam style? Also, it boggles my mind why none of the awsome addon people have made an APache Longbow yet. WHY NOT? So, could youall PLEASE tell me where all the Apache and Hueys are?

I was looking for a Longbow up until yesterday. Check out the Battle of Hokkaido Demo. It's on ATWAR.NET. Download the whole thing. Then go into West-BOH-Air-AH-64D Longbow. I thought it was all a Japanese MOD but there is a couple of US units in there. It's a good looking bird, ain't it?

I assume you're a former Devil Dog, like myself. So you might want to check out the beta AH-1W Marine Sea Cobra. It's a another nice bird. You can find it here:

http://usmc.ofpr.com/

It's in the download section.

I appluad makers of a good apache longbow. But doesn't it make more sense to have the four hellfires and 38 FFARs in rocket pods? For tank busting longbow all the way but infantry and lighter tanks should be hit by cannon or FFARs cause of the large explosion. FFars are small and create a large effect area and good for getting hunkered down infantry or not wasting 100 cannon or a hellfire on BMPs.

I could be wrong :P :-\

it could be MP lag but i have played nam missions and ive dumped a lot of ammo into those helos without taking one down,  however hitting the pilot does the trick

I remember awhile ago BAS was supposed to start working on both the AH1 and 64's but it seems to have dissappeared from their webpage. I have seen virtually every other thing about ofp re-done or introduced yet the premeir gunship of the us military has yet to be redone. the BAS ah-60l DAP is as close as it gers to a new apache I guess
