Ok. I'm trying to make an addon using my own voice for my player in ofp, also of other people's whom I play with for a novelty.

However I want to make the sounds as close to the ones made by BIS/codemasters (Red hammer) as I possibly can.

I have a few sound editing utilities at my disposal, the most powerful being Adobe Audition. I don't know how to use it really well. So I'm not good at creating my own effects.

However I know a few facts about the default ofp voices.

-They're 11025khz.
-Their converted bitrate (in wav form) is 176kbps
-The sample size is 16 bit
-The sounds have only one channel.

For some reason I'm having trouble converting certain wavs to 176kbps, not sure it's possible with Adobe Audition. Nice as the software is. I'd like to know how to replicate that "low-fi radio hiss" that is apparent in all of the sounds so that my voice and the voice of my friends in the game is as close to the BIS ones as possible.

Is there anywhere I can get more detailed info on this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

it's not cheap and I dont' know of a free program that can do this, but there could be, but in Steinberg Mastering Edition directx plugins there is a program called Free Filter that analyzes the EQ curve of one sound and applies it to another.

Or use an equalizer with high pass and low pass filters to give a "mid-rangey" sound.

You'll also need to add a little distortion to the sound.  There seems to be several free VST plugins, there's probably some free directx ones around as well.
