modelling buildings
« on: 22 Mar 2004, 02:53:41 »
I've reviewed BRRSEB's tutorial for buildings, but I still don't have a good grasp on using O2 to model detailed buildings. Granted I am a noob at 3d graphics, but I've got some ideas and a strong desire to create some nice structures. I've used Wings 3d before with some success and find it pretty easy to use in general. Importing the Wings structures into O2 is possible but you end up with a lot more faces than you need and the model becomes complicated and more difficult to texture. Sorry so wordy, any thoughts welcome.  :-\

Well....delete the extra faces! This also happens with 3DSMAX imports. It's a pain in the ass but very fixable. Try using the "squarize" function in O2. In my experience that helps cut down the number of faces a lot.
